Peranal Elimination of Peritoneal Catheter in an Adult with Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt Operation: Case Report.

ABSTRACT
We report a case in which the peritoneal shunt catheter caused performation of the bowel and was eliminated through the anus. Perforation of the bowel y a shunt catheter is very rare particularly in adult. The mechanism of bowel perforation is discussed. It is emphasized that prevention or treatment of ventriculitis and peritonitis is important in this case.
