ABSTRACT
The authors report a case of sparganosis in the brain and lumbar spinal canal, diagnosed by ELISA and histopathology. Sparganum infestation in the brain is rare condition and that in the spinal canal is even rarer. Moreover, simultaneous infestation in the brain and spinal canal is not reported in the worldwide literature. To the best of our knowledge, this case may be the first demonstration of multifocal sparganosis involving both brain and spinal canal.
