Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) takes majority of pediatric spinal deformities. Traditionally, orthopedic surgeons have played an important role in the treatment of AIS. However, neurosurgeons have recognized that a fundamental understanding of spinal deformity is essential for neurological surgery and AIS patients treated by neurosurgeons have increased rapidly. These figures showed that scoliotic curvature with 60 degree was well corrected after surgery.
