Primary malignant melanoma is very rare in the pineal region. Computed tomography scan shows a high density mass and the tumor has a dense hypointense rim on T2 weighted images. Intraoperative photograph reveals a black mass in the pineal region. Histopathological examination showed anaplastic spindled or epithelioid cells with large amounts of melanin pigmentations.
