Photographs and schematic drawings displaying the anatomic relationship among the CPA epidermoid, trigeminal nerve, and the artery. First low : The trigeminal nerve is completely encased by the epidermoid without displacement. Second low : During the operation, the trigeminal nerve is found to be compressed and distorted by the tumor. Third low : After tumor removal, the anterior inferior cerebellar artery (AICA), located on the same side of the tumor in relation to the trigeminal nerve, is found to be compressing the nerve directly on its ventrocaudal aspect, thus, the nerve is compressed by both the tumor and the artery on same sides. Forth low : In this patient, microvascular decompression (MVD) of the trigeminal nerve in addition to tumor removal was performed.
