First of all, it is a great pleasure and honor to greet all readers of Journal of Neurosurgcial Society as a 19th Editor-in-Chief.

Our society was established in 1961 and the first journal was published in 1972. There have been great 18 editors in the past who have put tremendous efforts to make JKNS as one of the major international journals. Currently, JKNS is being indexed in EMBASE, CAS, PubMed, PubMed Central, KMbase, KERIS, KRF/KCI, SCOPUS, and SCIE. Our journal is also being supported by the Korea Research Foundation Grant funded by the Korea Government(MEST, Basic Search Promotion Fund).

Along with 18 editorial board members, we have 17 domestic and 40 international advisory board members, and 110 review board members to become and maintain a journal with the finest quality.

As an editor, I will try to further extend the capacity of editorial and review board with more distinguished professionals from many other countries to broaden the vision and scope of our journal, and to exchange great experiences from both basic reseach and surgical fields of neuroscience in different regions of the world.

Lastly, I cordially ask every reader of JKNS to become an active participant by enjoying this journal and submitting fine research work along with sharing invaluable clinical experiences. On behalf of all editorial board members of JKNS, I promise to all the readers that we will put every effort to improve further the quality of our journal in future.
